Obedience & Agility
Bullmastiffs originated as an athletic, powerful dog with a job to accomplish alongside his handler. I believe a bullmastiff should retain it's ability to do the jobs for which it was bred. Bullmastiffs are excellent trackers, do well in obedience and many thoroughly enjoy agility courses. They thrive on having a job to do. As a person who has done obedience and agility with my own dogs, I can tell you there is nothing better to spend quality time with your dog than a performance arena. People can't wait to see the bullmastiffs run agility courses, and yes, they can even give the Border Collies a run for their money. A bullmastiff is focused and methodical. They have speed and tenacity to concentrate on the job at hand. Several bullmastiffs have excelled in the agility arena, Tori & Jack attained their 2nd MACH title, Ted & Andrea earned titles in AKC, NADAC, USDAA venues, too many to count; and McCloud & Vicki also attained numerous obedience titles, agility titles and even a Herding Certification.
